'Billa 2' gets 'A'! Release date & certificate rating to change? - Exclusive

The 'A' certificate has been given owing to the high glamour quotient, violence and the mature content of the movie that's high on action.

What's happening with 'Billa 2'? While it's widely buzzed that the movie has been given an 'A' certificate, IndiaGlitz exclusively brings to you interesting tidbits on what's actually happening.

Although an 'A' certificate has been given by the censor board, they have also given an option for a 'U/A' if the makers carry 40 cuts in the movie! Thus it's not yet sure of which version, with or without cuts, the film will go ahead with.

Thus the release date is likely to see a change as well and the makers are currently toying with two release dates, June 23 - a Saturday or June 29, a Friday and the latter date will also provide a one week gap between 'Saguni' and 'Billa 2'.

The censor rating of the movie and the release date will be finalized only by this evening after a thorough discussion between Aascar, Sunir and various distributors.

Producer Sunir says, "Censor certification process not over yet, will not compromise on film cuts. Next steps only after getting certificate tomorrow".

Directed by Chakri Toleti, the film has Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah as the leading ladies. A prequel to Ajith's earlier hit 'Billa', the film will be distributed by Aascar V Ravichandran.
