'Billa 2' & 'Saguni' to clash in the Box Office

For a longtime now there was no big release in Tamil cinema thanks to a strike and now it looks like Ajith's 'Billa 2' and Karthi's 'Saguni' might clash in the box office.

It was earlier buzzed that 'Billa 2' will release on June 22 and 'Saguni', two weeks later on July 6. However it is now said that the makers of 'Saguni' are trying to release their film on June 22 as well! Studio Green who is producing the film has already started booking theatres for their movie.

'Saguni' will be censored today following which their promotion work will begin in a full swing. 'Billa 2' will be censored early next week after which the work on the film's release will begin.


'Billa 2' is a prequel to blockbuster 'Billa' and has Ajith, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah in the lead roles. With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film by Chakri Toleti is red hot in trade. 'Saguni' starring Karthi, Pranitha and Santhanam is by newbie Shankar Dayal and has music by GV Prakash. The film is also eagerly expected in Andhra Pradesh where Karthi enjoys a good fan base.


While 'Billa 2' is a gangster biggie where Thala Ajith becomes a feared don from an Eelam refugee, 'Saguni' is a political satire that has Karthi playing mind games. It looks like it will be one big clash in the box-office this June 22!
